Ashley Hawkes, RMT
Ashley graduated from Victoria’s West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sport, Health, and Physical Education from Vancouver Island University. Raised in Nanoose Bay, Ashley volunteered for seven years as a firefighter and first responder. She is passionate about health care and community service.
Recently relocated to Port Alberni after three years practicing in Whitehorse, Yukon, Ashley specializes in sports injuries, injury prevention, overuse and motor vehicle accident injuries, and pre/postnatal care. Her background includes spa work, allowing her to blend relaxation with rehabilitative techniques.
Ashley treats a wide range of conditions, customizing treatments to individual needs to help patients achieve their goals. She employs methods such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and isolytic release. Her student research focused on intra-oral and extra-oral massage benefits for temporomandibular dysfunction. She continues to expand her expertise through courses in cranial sacral therapy, active release techniques, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, and muscle energy techniques.
